Thursday Thirteen - a note to myself

Finally! The end of the most depressed month in the year! Oh, I really don’t like January. I don’t.

So, here we are for the better future, today my Thursday Thirteen in form of a note to myself:

1. Laugh! Laugh! Laugh!
2. Have a fun no matter what you do.
3. Think positive. Wear a pink glasses if needed.
4. Read more fun books.
5. Watch funny movies. They are stupid! So what? Have a fun (no. 2)
6. Go mingle. More. More. More.
7. Wear bright and vivid colors. Yes you will look fat, but you will be happier.
8. Exercise! It’s hard and boring but you have to. You’re sitting too much.
9. Eat more fruits and vegetables!
10. Cook more! Do not fry. Cook – boil.
11. Drink more tea. Tea is better than coffee.
12. Write more. Anything. Just write. It helps.
13. Laugh!

Wednesday Widget - Colors

I love this! I try to name several times and I just can’t name more than 30-35 colors. I always forget colors like: Violet, Sepia, Salmon… It’s hard to remember all of them and if you think that 5 minutes is a long time, oh you are so wrong :)

Maybe it’s because English is not my mother tongue but still I should name them more than 36!

Friday Freeware - Entrecards design

I was thinking: how can I create something new that any blogger would like to use? I had icons, wallpapers, Christmas banners… and now I need something different.

So, here it is: I’m offering 9 Entrecards design for free download. The only thing you have to do is write your blog name (or link, or slogan) on one of the images. Or you can leave it as they are.

Hope you’ll like it. They are made from my images.

I always strive to offer some useful content. That’s just how I am :)

Hey, It’s Saturday already!

And I’m still here, in January 2008., struggling and juggling through the blogworld!

Today, I was thinking about those people which (allegedly) earned some serious money through blogging (let’s say enough to buy a house and invest in some trustful business decent enough to keep them enjoying their lives) – are they real? Do you know them personally? Do you know if they are happy now?

Well, enough skepticism for today! Let’s do some bragging! Oh, yeah!

So, tadaaaaaa: my Photoshop brushes will be included in 41st issue of “Advanced Photoshop” magazine CD content! Woohoo! Now, how about that?!

I’m really, really happy about it and that makes me going even further and my next move will be providing my visitors some serious content divided in “theme packages” that will be sold on my graphics-illustrations.com blog.

Tuesday Target: Template Monster

As you can see at the right side, I added new affiliate program: Template Monster.

Actually, I’m a member since 2005., but I used them on my dgdesign.hr web site, and of course: without a success/sale. I’m not sure is it because we are a small country, customers are afraid of too many options on the site or people here just hate buying anything online.

Now I will find out.

They have a lot of advertising options for affiliates and I love it. Sometimes I’m lost in all those domain names (templatehelp, templatestorage, templatemonster…) but everything is so nice and I can’t wait to see some stats (or sales)!

I created one banner with a preview of two latest designs on graphics-illustrations.blogspot.com and maybe someone will at least click on it :)

Until I earn my 5 cents there, stay well and keep smiling!

Sunday, Sunday… Suspicion!

I wrote about AdSense and their threats to my account. Now, I’m not sure what should I do: since I deleted the ads from all my blogs (except the graphics-illustrations.com) my earning was only a few cents per day.

I felt stupid.

So, I added again the same ad code. Since I did this, I didn’t received any e-mail from AdSense team… Keep fingers crossed, and hope that they will send me a check one day…

! Saturday Showing Off :)

Yeah! Two days ago I received an email from AdBrite (those guys are biting up AdSense!) that I sold a place on my graphics-illustrations.blogspot.com. Isn’t it nice, hm?

Well, yes and no.

For the last month I’m trying to redirect all my visits from that blogspot blog to my own domain (but same blog of course) on graphics-illustrations.com. And I’m still selling ad spots on that blogspot site! Strange.

But, I figured out: I will go on with both. But on graphics-illustrations.blogspot.com I’ll place only a “teaser link” to my origin post on graphics-illustrations.com

Whooo… I’ll have more work to do, but that brought me to another idea: How about posting all “teaser links” that I find to other related sites? That’s something to think about.

Thursday Thirteen - New Year’s resolutions

First Thursday this year and here it is, my New Year’s resolutions list:

1. Always trust to your instinct where it comes to business decisions: yes, that’s true – I should never take any kind of a job if I have a tiniest doubt before the start.
2. Use more than one e-mail address: one e-mail address should be primary, but I must have one or two and they should be on different mail servers!
3. Don’t eat while working: since I quit smoking (last July) I’m eating instead. I should quit eating when working because every month I’m buying new clothes and, hey, that must be stopped!
4. Don’t work overnight: I like working late at night, but I’ve noticed few problems with it: I’m totally disoriented, my life became a mess, I don’t have a time for socializing (I’m sleeping instead of drinking afternoon coffee with my friends)
5. Spend less time on Facebook. Facebook is a mess! Too many applications, duplicated posts, messages, videos… and spam again.
6. Create one or two Photoshop brushes per week. And don’t drink Coke or similar shit while drawing.
7. Create at least 5 illustrations per week. It’s a small amount, but it’s better than 0, which I made in the last 3 months. Embarrassing.
8. Write at least one post a day for one of the blogs. Writing blog posts will help me stay in touch with sanity.
9. Don’t, don’t, don’t even think about paying anything over the Internet if you don’t really need it (just remember the money wasted on Affiliate Junktion)
10. Make comments on other people blogs. As many as you can. It helps making friends-linking-visiting-earning combination.
11. Use you brain better. Don not let other people make you depressed just because they are depressed. Help them instead.
12. Stay away from the egocentric shallow persons. They suck your energy and might bore you to death.
13. Learn Italian. Learn harder!
